Glasgow is absolutely spoiled for choice when it comes to wedding venues, and Citation in the heart of the Merchant City has to be right up there with the best of them. It’s a stunning building inside and out and I’m a total sucker for some exposed sandstone 🙂

Sam and Chris had decided they wanted a chilled-out wedding day so I started off the morning by visiting Sam for half an hour or so to grab a few photos of her and her family before heading into Glasgow to photograph the rest of the wedding day.

Back inside and it was time for the wedding speeches which are always a treat as I love hearing about the backstories of the couple and their journey up to the wedding day. All that was left for me after a delicious dinner was to photograph Sam and Chris’ first dance. Cheered on by their closest friends and family they made sure to strut their stuff and put on a proper show for their adoring fans!

Sam was walked down the aisle by her dad and brother, and Alex being the shy, retiring type he is couldn’t resist singing along to the music as he escorted Sam to meet Chris. The ceremony was conducted by Mark Reilly aka Mark the Humanist, and he always ensures there’s a fun time had. It was a cracking, down to earth, and very personal wedding ceremony.

The beauty about tying the knot in the city centre of Glasgow is that you don’t need to go far to get some fab wedding photos. I was able to get some lovely photos of Chris and Sam enjoying some time together as newlyweds right on the doorstep of Citation while still getting loads of variety.
