Ewan & Chris

Ewan and Chris met in Glasgow, both fresh out of their photographic education, and founded Top Table in 2009, borne from a desire to provide fun, down-to-earth wedding photography and videography, whilst being ultra-reliable and professional in all the ways that matter. It’s fair to say that normally these things are difficult to find in one place!

After photographing and filming more than 400 weddings at some of their favourite venues they’ve learned a few things. As photographers, they love the big, epic sunsets. And of course, they’re always chasing the light and looking for a genuine connection with their couples. But it’s the candid pictures, the fleeting moments, that they capture. Those are the things that really connect. They specialise in being able to see the things their couples want to remember.

You’ve got questions, and hopefully, we’ve got the answers here. But if we don’t, just give us a shout.

How many photographers will capture our wedding?

You can choose between hiring one photographer or two for your big day. If you do decide to go for two photographers, this means one of us can visit the groom in the morning while the other photographs the bride.

How many filmmakers will capture our wedding?

When choosing our Photo + Film package, We’ll provide both a dedicated photographer and a filmmaker to document your day. One of us will be your photographer for the day and the other will be your friendly neighbourhood filmmaker

How long do you stay on the day?

We stay from as early as you would like till as late as you require. We don’t believe in charging by the hour for our services, so you can rest assured – when you book with us, you have us for the whole day. We don’t leave until we’re sure we’ve done a great job.

How many pictures do you take, must be millions!?

Typically we make up to 1000 images throughout the day. However not all of these will pass our strict quality control process, and some are shot from different angles and with differing styles. We will edit these down to include only the best images of your entire day.

How long will our Highlights Film be?

Each film is edited to reflect the pace and feel of your wedding day so the exact length can vary. That said, our films tend to range from 10-15 minutes in length.

How long are your Full-day Films?

The total length of your full-day film is mainly dictated by the duration of your ceremony and speeches. For that reason our films will typically last anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.

How Long will it be till we can see our wedding photos?

We aim to have your photos online in a private gallery within three weeks of your big day. If you’re going on honeymoon they’ll most likely be ready for you to see when you get back!

How long does it take to get our wedding film?

Your Highlights Film will be ready within 5 weeks, and if you’ve gone for one, your Full-day Film will be ready in 8 weeks.

Can our families and pals view and purchase pictures?

Of course, all they need is the password to your gallery(which we always ensure you have first). Then they can view and buy all sorts of things; from prints and frames to mugs and canvases.

Do we got a copy of all the pictures and films?

Yes! All of our packages include a USB of all your photographs and film, supplied in a beautiful presentation case, for you to share and print to your heart’s desire.

Can I print the pictures myself?

Yes! Not only can you print and share all the images you will receive, but we can recommend some great printing services that will do justice to your wedding photographs.

Are you insured?

Absolutely. We have full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance, ensuring you complete peace of mind on your most important day.

Do you have backup cameras, in case the worst happens?

Very much so. Between us we carry no fewer than four complete professional camera systems on your big day. We also carry backup lighting, lenses, batteries and memory. We come fully prepared.

What if it rains on our big day?

We’ll get wet! Seriously, though, Working as wedding photographers in Scotland, it’s an occupational hazard! There’s pretty much no weather situation that would stop us or our gear from working – often what seems like less than perfect weather can actually help us produce much more dramatic photographs!

Do you need fed on the day of the wedding?

We wouldn’t dream of asking you to feed us, however, we will happily eat if there is a spare meal or two offered to us! Failing that we usually just grab something from the bar. Not naming any names, but if you do decide to provide us with a meal then one of us is vegetarian. (It’s not Chris!)

Do you charge travel expenses?

Inside the central-belt area of Scotland, such as Glasgow and Edinburgh, we charge nothing. For weddings further-afield, there may be the need to charge a travel expense, and for weddings that are really far away we may need to charge for an overnight stay. Any applicable expenses will be charged at cost price and agreed in advance with yourselves, so there are no surprises.

We really love what we see, how do we book?

All you need to do to secure your date is to get in touch and we’ll send you a booking form. Once you’ve filled that in and paid a £300 deposit that’s you all booked up!

Can you provisionally hold our day?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to hold dates without a booking form and deposit, as we tend to book up a year or two (or even three!) in advance.
