JOHN + KIRSTEN’S BRAW WEDDING AT THE BLYTHSWOOD HOTEL
Kirsten and John, like so many couples this year had originally planned a big wedding day. When it turned out that wasn’t on the cards for a while they decided that tying the knot in 2020 was really important to them and they were determined to make it happen. They found a couple of new venues then set about re-organising their (little) big day.
Falkirk registrars’ office was the venue for their ceremony in front of their closest friends and family. The numbers were so exclusive in fact, that even we couldn’t sneak ourselves in. Not to worry, a few cameras placed throughout the room in strategic positions and we were still able to capture some beautiful moments from their nuptials.
After the ceremony, it was back into Glasgow city centre for the rest of the wedding day. John and Kirsten had booked the Blythswood Hotel for their reception, and with the current restrictions, it was more or less exclusive use 🙂 The weather was pretty decent for October so we made sure to head out into the gardens in the middle of the square for some wedding photos of the newlyweds. We even managed to send the drone up to get a truly unique view over the city.
Before dinner, there was time for some speeches, and it’s always great to hear all the stories about the bride and groom and everything that had brought them together up to this special day. There’s, unfortunately, no bands or DJs allowed at weddings for now but that didn’t mean the happy couple couldn’t enjoy a first dance to keep with tradition.
We always love to do a bit of night photography when we can, so we waited till it got nice and dark to go back outside the hotel with Kirsten and John for one last photo before saying goodbye. Thanks for having us along to photograph your wedding, guys, we loved being part of your big day and hope you love all of your photos and mini-movie!
