KATIE & CAMERON’s FANTASTIC WEDDING IN KILLEARN

Killearn Village Hall

It’s always smashing to be asked back to photograph a friend or sibling’s wedding. We love that feeling of sort of knowing people at the big day too, it really helps us blend in and capture more great moments throughout the day!

Killearn is an adorable little village, nestled just north of Glasgow beside the Campsies. Katie and Cameron were getting married at the village hall, it’s self a very cute traditional building right in the centre of the town. First though, we were heading to Drymen in the morning to photograph the preparations for the day! When we arrived, we found the girls in a large and sunny room downstairs. The light was great, so we got on with grabbing lots of video and pictures as proceeding unfolded.

After briefly seeing the guys (struggling to work out the kilts as usual!) it was soon time to head along to the hall for the main event. The venue was decked out wonderfully, with big paper lanterns and loads of lights on strings – it looked just like a village hall should! After arriving fashionably late, the ceremony was underway and it was an absolute cracker! With readings from friends, touching anecdotes from Katie and Cameron’s relationship thus far and some fantastic live music.

The sun was shining outside once the ceremony was complete, so all the guests headed outside for the big old confetti shot that had been planned. We love a wee confetti shot here at Top Table, it’s an enduring tradition that we feel really bumps up the celebration factor at any big day! The weather and general spring factor has certainly started to improve in recent weeks, I’m sure you’ve noticed too, so we were keen to go for a lovely couples shoot with the newlyweds. The areas around the town hall are very nicely presented, and there were plenty of cherry blossoms and new spring blooms to use in our shots and video!

Of course, time as it tends to was moving on, and it was soon time for everyone to head inside for dinner and speeches! It’s always one of our favourite times of the day, and we can’t help but listen along to some of the hilarious tales that are told, especially in the best man’s speeches! After dinner the party could really get going with a live band and plenty of dancing too, it was a wild old time and we were hard at work grabbing pictures and clips of all the action as it unfolded! With full memory cards it was time to say goodbye to this wonderful wedding day, and leave the happy couple and all their guests to party late in to the night. We’re really chuffed to have been able to capture your wedding day guys, and we hope you love all the pictures and video for years to come!
