Couple: Nicola + Ben

Venue: Trades Hall, Glasgow

Date: 26th October 2019

It’s always amazing to be photographing in the city centre, and even more so in the depths of autumn, when the light is at its absolute best! How lucky were we, then, to be invite along to photograph the nuptials of Nicola and Ben at Glasgow’s marvellous Trades Hall!

Although there was a definite chill in the air when we arrived to see Nicola and the girls early in the morning, it was once of those gloriously crisp autumn days, with the low sun lighting up the landscape with raking shadows. We got straight to work, capturing loads of pictures and film of the girls all getting their hair and makeup done. We absolutely love this time of the day, the energy in the rooms as everyone anticipates the day to come can’t be beaten!

Trades Hall Wedding Photography

Soon enough it was time to head down to the trades hall, for the hour was upon us! Nicola had decided to go for an iconic Glasgow taxi for her wedding car, except with a twist, this one was in white! We reckon that’s a really great contrast to the usual wedding cars we see, and much more likely to be on time too!

After a lovely ceremony in the grand hall, with all the laughter and tears you’d expect, we all headed outside for a few family pictures to mark the occasion. Nicola and Ban had their eye on John Street, where the historic council buildings of the city chambers flank a quiet part of the city.  This turned out to be a fantastic choice, with the old buildings providing a uniquely Glasgow look to the pictures. After this we managed to steal just a few minutes with Nicola and Ben to get some romantic shots of the two of them around the Merchant City.  We even managed to nip out into the traffic of Ingram Street, to get a stunning shot of the happy couple with the GoMA in the background – well done guys!

With the sun setting it was soon time to head inside for the meal, but not before a few heartfelt words from Nicola’s dad, Ben and of course his brother, the best man! Everyone did an amazing job when it was their turn to say a few words, and by the end there was barely a dry eye in the house! A well-earned dinner then, and they would be needing some of that energy for the dancing too!

We had an absolutely wonderful day capturing Nicola and Ben’s big day, and we really think that comes through in the pictures and Mini-Movie below. Have a look and see if you agree!
