Couple: Debbie + Bill

Date: 24th August 2019

As summer fades into the past for another year, it was wonderful to have a last hurrah, on a rare sunny day, at Rowallan Castle!

Yes, it’s been rather a wet summer, but just a couple of weeks ago we were treated to a rare dry day, as Debbie and Bill tied the knot at Rowallan Castle in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside. We arrived bright and early to photography the morning’s preparations, as everyone got ready for the day ahead. Everyone was bussing about, putting kilts on and getting hair done, and generally getting all dolled up for the ceremony. Soon enough, it was time for the boys to head down to the castle to greet the arriving guests and get everyone seated for the main part of the day.

Debbie and Bill had chosen a family friend as the minister for their vows, which always makes for a more personal experience, and we like that! After a very touching and warm ceremony we all headed outside for some drinks and canapés in the late summer sunshine. The guests were also delighted to find Debbie and Bill had also organized and ice-cream cart for some refreshment during the afternoon reception – they must have known the weather was going to be so nice, and the queue was never empty!

After grabbing some quick formals of both families and the happy couple, we had just enough time to head off into the grounds with the happy couple for some pictures of just the two of them. Now, Rowallan Castle is a fantastic building, and normally that’d be everything you needed for some great shots. But the estate actually has two castles! I know, right? A whole spare castle just incase you decide you’d like a different look for some of your pictures! Needless to say, we had to pay a visit to the other castle too, for science :) Debbie and Bill were awesome subjects, mostly so wrapped up in each other that they hardly noticed us snapping away – just the way we like it!

Soon afterwards it was time to head inside for a well-deserved meal, but not before the small matter of a few speeches, to mark the occasion! All the speakers did a great job of variously telling the tale of Debbie and Bill’s relationship thus far, and giving them just a wee bit of a send up too! And what wedding would be complete without a trip to the golf course too, just to get a little practice in on the putting green!? We really loved the shots we grabbed of Bill holding up the flag, while Debbie went for her birdie :)

With an awesome day behind them, it was time for the celebrations to really begin, with the reception and the evenings dancing! But Debbie had one more surprise up her sleeve for Bill and all her guests – a song that she did with the band! Bill was obviously bowled over with this gesture, and all their family and friends were amazed too! Altogether, this was another action packed wedding that we’re so happy to have been invited along to! Thanks for having us along guys, and all the best for your marriage!
