CLAIRE + ANTHONY’S SMASHING WEDDING

Oran-Mor
05/03/2022
What a belter of a day I had at Oran Mor the other week! Seriously, it was an awesome wedding from start to finish, so let me tell you all about it!

First things first – when I arrived in the morning it was straight over to see the girls at the near-by Grosvenor Hotel where they were all getting ready. The vibe was super chilled out, and for once I was actually there before the hairdresser and make up artist! Those girls are hard-working and early starting, so I was feeling pretty proud of myself!

After grabbing loads of great shots of all the scrubbing up and glad rag putting-on, I was off to the Oran Mor to see what was going on there. Loads of people were already arriving for the big show, so I got to work snapping away as the guests filtered in. The main hall of the Oran Mor always looks stunning on wedding days, it’s absolutely one of our favourite places to photograph weddings in Glasgow.

It was a smashing ceremony, and as usual for the humanist ceremonies we get to see, it was filled with touching tales of the stories that had led to this moment and also just a wee bit of humour too.  Right afterwards Claire and Anthony had decided to grab a quickly shot of all the wedding guests together, so I got my skates on and ran up to the mezzanine before everyone dispersed.

Of course, no visit to Oran Mor would be complete without a little trip over to the Botanic Gardens for some pictures! So we all headed over for a little wander around the gardens and the Kibble Palace. As luck would have it, they had just closed the kibble palace for the day, so we had the place all to ourselves to go and grab some pics. This was awesome. Usually, you have to be pretty patient in there as it’s so full of other people all wanting to enjoy the plants and the serene atmosphere but today we were able to just walk about, and we were even allowed in to the middle of the greenhouse too!

By this time dinner was definitely calling and after one last shot on the spiral staircase of the venue, we all headed inside so that the meal could begin. After some wonderful speeches (and a fantastic giant cheese cake!), it was time for the party to really begin! The new Mr. and Mrs. had wisely chosen to go for a ceilidh so it was go, go, go from moment one on the dance floor! I was rushed off my feet trying to keep up with the revellers as they waltzed around the hall! I hope you enjoy all the pictures Claire and Anthony, and thanks again for inviting me along to capture your amazing wedding day, I had a blast!
