LIAM & ED’S MARVELLOUS MARITIME WEDDING DAY!

Lodge on Loch Lomond
03/07/2021
Wow, where to start with this wedding!? We had a fantastic, action packed, day with Liam and Ed. Let us tell you all about it!

From the moment I arrived at the bus in the morning I knew this day was going to be a little bit different! After photographing some of the guests heading to the transport, I got on the bus with everyone else so we could head to Tarbet pier. After a very narrow squeeze for the bus, down the steep road to the harbour, our wedding venue was revealed to us – and it was a boat!

Yes, that’s right, Liam and Ed had decided to tie the knot on board one of the Loch Lomond cruise ships, what a fantastic idea! As we puled away from the pier and headed up the loch I saw a familiar face, Claire the Humanist! I’m always happy to see Claire at a wedding, as she’s one of the best celebrants working in Scotland today. She really gives everything for her couples, and the ceremonies she holds are equal parts engaging, funny and poignant.

Shortly after the service was over, we pulled up at the majestic and seclude Inversnaid Hotel. Many people have driven up the A82 from Tarbet to Crianlarich and wondered how an earth you get to this seeming inaccessible yet large hotel across the water, well this is one way to get there, and a pretty stylish one if we do say so ourselves! There was plenty of time to get some family pictures down here, not to mention some pictures of the newlyweds by the waterfalls and looking down the lochs.

Soon enough we got back on the boat for a sail back down to Luss and the Lodge on Loch Lomond. While we were back on the boat, lots of nibbles and fizz were served so everyone could have a great time as we sailed gently towards the venue. Of course, the staff at the Lodge had laid on a fantastic feast, which was waiting for everyone on arrival, just as soon as some speeches had been heard! All the speakers did a fantastic job. It can be quite nerve wracking, giving a speech in front of all the people you know, so we tip our hats to those that do it!

All in all, this was an amazing and unique wedding, that we’re really happy we had the opportunity to photograph. Thanks again guys for inviting us along, and congratulations again to the new Mr. & Mr!
