HARELAW FARM Wedding / EILIDH & AARON
A love story in the heart of the Scottish county-side.
We love a wee Harelaw Farm wedding here at Top Table, and even more so when we’re working with a lovely couple, such as Eilidh and Aaron!
We’d never been to Harelaw Farm for a wedding before, so we arrived nice and early in the morning for a good look around, to acquaint ourselves with the surroundings and find the best spots to take the newlyweds to later in the day. After being shown round very comprehensively (thanks guys!) we were really amazed by the picturesque setting and rustic charm of the whole place. It definitely helped that the day was looking like it was going to be an absolute scorcher too!
After getting familiar with everything and getting the lowdown on the order of the day, it was time to head over to see the girls for some getting ready shots. Things were a hive of activity, as you’d expect, with everyone getting their makeup and hair done, not to mention catching up with friends as they arrived for the day. After nipping over to see the bays too, and catching a quick game of pool, it was soon time for the ceremony. Eilidh and Aaron had decided to go for the Humanist celebration, which is always great as it really allows couples to personalise things and include family and friends in the proceedings. Eilidh and Aaron certainly managed to do this, and with the extended readings from a couple of important friends, it really felt like the ceremony was being conducted by those they love – perfect!
After the ceremony (and a stunning singing performance from a choir at the end!) it was time to head outside, into the sunshine, for some drinks and nibbles and the celebrating could begin! With the choir still singing away and providing a fantastic backdrop, we were busy filling our memory cards with photos of all the happy guests and the extra-happy newlyweds enjoying the warm weather.
The best thing about weddings at Harelaw Farm in the height of the summer is we can leave the couples photos until after dinner, giving the new Mr and Mrs more time to spend with their guest during the day! We love shooting the party as it happens too, so everyone’s a winner! Soon enough though it was time to head in for some food, but not before the speeches of course! Everyone did a great job when it was their turn to speak, but we’ve got to make a special mention for the best man! His speech was very, very funny – maybe a wee side-job as a comedian beckons!?
All that was left, then, was the big party, the old knees-up witch we reckon is everyone’s favourite part of the day! Sneaky Treacle were charged with bringing the noise tonight, and judging by how full the dance floor was they did a fantastic job!
Safe to say we had an excellent day with Eilidh and Aaron, and Harelaw Farm is one of our favourite new wedding venues! Thanks again for asking us along, and congratulations again from us guys!
