Couple: Jill + Robert

Date:  1st November 2019

Sherbrooke Castle is a fab Southside wedding venue. It’s a beautiful red sandstone castle in the perfect spot for sharing your day with your friends and family. It’s easy to see why Jill and Robert chose it as the place to tie the knot

We had met up with Robert and Jill (and Molly) a few weeks prior to the big day for a pre wedding photography shoot. We went for a nice stroll around Rouken Glen and got to hear all about their plans for the big day so it was nice to see it all come together.

Glasgow Wedding Photographers

Jill started the day by getting ready in the castle while Robert geared up for the big day at their home in Clarkston. The morning rituals of a wedding day, making sure laces are tied correctly, ties knotted just so etc all really add together to help build excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.

Jill and Robert had chosen a humanist ceremony which is always a great choice for an intimate and personal wedding service. We got to hear about their journey together up to this monumental day and topped it all off with the exchanging of rings and quite literally tying the knot during a hand fasting ceremony.

Afterwards, despite the fact the weather was misbehaving Robert and Jill were totally game for heading outside and braving the elements to get some cracking wedding photos of just the two of them enjoying some time together. Sherbrooke is also a beautiful venue on the inside so we made use of the fantastic staircase for all of the family and group photos.

After we’d heard from Jill’s dad, Robert, and his best man during the speeches, the newlyweds had decided they wanted a totally chilled and relaxed evening so spent the remainder of the night chatting away and having a generally great time with all of their guests. Oh, and there were ARCADE MACHINES! Love it.
