Couple: Barbara + Andy

Venue: Glasgow City Chambers

Date:  19th July 2019

It’s always a nice change of pace to photograph a smaller, intimate wedding. So when Barbara and Andy told us all about their plans to tie the knot in the Glasgow City Chambers and then head round to Waxy O’Connor’s we were all in!

I started off my day by heading through to Paisley to get some snaps of Barbara and her bridesmaids (Cara and Laura) as they were getting their hair done while enjoying a wee glass of the fizzy stuff. Then it was time to shoot off back through to Glasgow to capture some candid moments of Andy as he got all kilted up and prepared for the big day ahead.

Before the ceremony there was time to check back in on Barbara and the girls before they headed over to the city chambers, and it’s fair to say there were some emotional moments when Euan saw his mum in her dress – it’s these kind of natural moments that make this such a wonderful job. Meanwhile Andy and the boys were managing to sneak in a cheeky wee half to settle the nerves.

Onto the ceremony, and the city chambers is a really lovely building and a fab place for couples getting hitched in front of just a few friends and family. After a really lovely ceremony we nipped round the corner to get the family group photos done and dusted before heading over George Square to Waxy’s to celebrate in style.

All of Barbara and Andy’s guests were obviously having a great time relaxing and toasting the day, so I was able to talk the happy couple into following me outside in the rain to get some photos of them on their own. Not that they took much convincing I might add, they were totally up for coming for a good wander with me and making the best of the surrounding city to make some gorgeous wedding photos.

Thanks so much for having me along to capture your day, guys. I really loved sharing in all the emotion of the day and so glad I was able to photograph it all as it unfolded.
