Although we mostly work around Glasgow and the central belt of Scotland, we absolutely love to travel a little further afield when we get the chance. One of our very favourite remote venues is Crear, on the rugged west coast of Scotland. Luckily for us, this is exactly where we were headed, just a few weeks, ago for the wedding of Lorna & Beinn.

It’s always a bit of an early start when we head out into the wilds to photograph, and today was no exception! After a long and very scenic drive through the dawn hours we arrived at Crear to find it a hive of activity, with the girls all getting ready in the main house, and the boys cosily ensconced in the cottages while they got prepared for the day ahead too. We decided to just wander between both locations so we could grab loads of great shots of the whole wedding party.

Sadly, with the seasons turning towards winter, and the temperature starting to really drop on the west coast, an outdoor ceremony was not on the cards on this day. Fear not, however, as Crear has an amazing room for indoor celebrations with windows all along the front with uninterrupted views across the hills and coastline. The ceremony was really lovely, and with so many family and friends present, along with Lorna and Beinn’s strong connections to the area it had a really cosy feel.

We were amazed to see a small break in the weather right as the ceremony was finishing which gave us a chance to get outside for some family pictures along with some romantic shots of the newlyweds. Lorna and Beinn were absolute superstars, and despite being observed by the local sheep populations they came across really naturally in the pictures, we’re sure you’ll agree! After all that exertion everyone was ready to eat. But of course, there had to be some speeches first! Everyone did a great job. Despite some nerves beforehand, they had the full support of everyone in the room and that really showed as they were all great on the night!

As we headed towards the night and a good old party to celebrate the occasion, there was still time for one last surprise from Lorna & Beinn. They’d only gone and arranged some fireworks for everyone! It really was the perfect way to cap off an amazing day of celebrating the marriage of Lorna & Beinn.
