Couple: Jacqueline & Colin

Venue: Cottiers

Date: 1st June 2019

I’m really excited to be sharing Jacqueline and Colin’s fantastic wedding at Cottiers, just a couple of weeks ago!

It’s lovely to be back at Cottiers again, it really is one of our favourite venues. From the charming and ramshackle main hall, to the wildflower garden at the front of the church, this is a venue that’s filled with character and heart.

We arrived early in the morning to find the girls busily getting ready, with their hair and makeup, and the boys doing likewise (but with less of the makeup) so we set about grabbing loads of shots to tell the story of the day so far. Time has a habit of absolutely flying by on wedding days, so soon enough it was time to head down to Cottiers for the main event. Jacqueline and Colin had decided to go with a Humanist ceremony for their nuptials, an excellent choice if we do say so ourselves! Also excellent was the choice of celebrant, with Claire Digance bringing warmth and just the right amount of humour to proceedings.

Afterwards it was time to head out and grab some family pictures, along with a few special, romantic shots of the happily married couple. We usually like to head up the road from Cottiers when we get the chance – there is an absolutely stunning view from the top of Gardener Street, which is not to be missed! In a happy coincidence it turns out that Colin is a big Rangers fan too, so we were able to grab a quick shot with Ibrox in the background for him, you really can see that far from up there!

Once we came back down from our wee trip up the road it was time to head back in so that everyone could have some well-deserved food. But first it was time for was the all-important speeches! Everyone was looking a little nervous before their turn, but once things got going, all the speakers did an excellent job, and there were many tears, both of joy and laughter, all around the room.

Of course, after the wedding breakfast was finished, no wedding would be complete without a proper knees up, to celebrate the newlyweds big day! We love shooting the dancing in the evening. It’s so great to see everyone letting their hair down after all the traditions and formalities are finished for the day.

What an amazing day all round! Massive thanks to Colin and Jacqueline for having us along to photograph it !
