Couple: David + Heather

Venue: Bowfield Hotel & Country Club.

Date:  4th January 2019

What better way to combat those post-Christmas/January blues than a cracking wedding!? That’s exactly what Heather and David decided to do by tying the knot just a few days into the New Year.

They decided they wanted to do things a little differently, so first of all, they planned the whole wedding in just three months – great job, very impressive! Secondly, they decided to have a sunset wedding. So they had their ceremony just as the sun was going down, very romantic.

We started our day by visiting Heather and her bridesmaids, who were already at the Bowfield, to grab some photos of all the preparations before the day got into full swing. We then headed downstairs for the ceremony. The Bowfield is a really fab venue for a wedding; it has loads of charm from the stylish décor and feels really warm and welcoming thanks to the lovely exposed brick walls.

Right on cue, just as the sun was setting, David and Heather said their vows in front of their closest friends and family during a beautiful ceremony in which we also had readings from both of David’s sisters.

After the nuptials, everyone headed outside for a large group shot before we snuck the newlyweds away for a couple of quick photos. I don’t think we’ve ever taken wedding photos in the pitch black before, so finding the ideal spot was key. And the gazebo at the side of the hotel was ideal for a couple of romantic shots before heading back inside for a heat.

The speeches are always a hoot. It’s great to hear a range of stories from throughout a couple’s lives and to get a little bit of insight into everything that led to this one special day.

Heather and David had brought along some sparklers, so we even had time to head outside to get a really cool photo of them and their pals having some fun before the dancing got into full swing. The rest of the evening was dedicated to having an amazing time, and clearly, everyone was having a ball as they kept the dance floor full and danced the night away.
