Couple: Natalie + Michael

Venue: Brig O' Doon

Date:  16th November 2019

Brig o’ Doon is definitely one of our favourite venues to photograph weddings at so we were delighted to be heading back a few weeks ago for Natalie and Michael’s big day. I’m getting ahead of myself, though, we’d better have a marriage ceremony before the big party and the happy couple tied the knot in the stunning St Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley.

We started our day off by popping in to see Natalie as she and her bridesmaids prepared for the day ahead. Nervousness and excitement always go hand in hand on the morning of a wedding so we’ve noticed over the years that there’s no better cure than a cheeky wee glass of something bubbly :)

We made it to the church in plenty of time to see Michael welcoming their guests while his team of trusty groomsmen ensured everyone found their seats in good time. A church wedding is always a beautiful affair, and Natalie and Michael’s ceremony was just lovely.

Afterwards it was time to head down the A77 towards Alloway and the Brig o’ Doon hotel to celebrate the rest of the day in style. We managed to sneak away with Michael and Natalie to the memorial gardens across the road for a few photos of the happy couple enjoying a moment of calm together.

Back inside it was time for the speeches, and Michael, his brother, and Natalie’s dad delivered a whole host of stories enlightening all the guests about their time together as well as a fair few anecdotes about their childhoods. It’s fair to say there were laughs aplenty!

We were chatting to Michael before the dancing and we said to him that we reckoned the dance floor was going to be pretty lively. You always get a feel for these things throughout a wedding day and we were spot on as Natalie, Michael and all of their guests were on their feet all night long throwing all kinds of shapes. A brilliant way to round off a fantastic wedding day.
