Couple: Gavin + Louise

Venue: Glasgow Grosvenor Hilton.

Date:  9th February 2019

I was delighted when Louise and Gavin asked me along to photograph their big day. We meet so many couples in the Glasgow Grosvenor Hilton that it was really nice to actually photograph a wedding in the hotel.

After meeting Gavin and Louise a few weeks before the big day it was clear that it was going to be a lovely, relaxed and loving day. I went along nice and early to check in with Louise as she and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day ahead. This gave me loads of time to sneak away with her dress, flowers etc. to get some great photos before heading back downstairs to photograph Gavin arriving.

Gavin’s ushers were charged with welcoming all of the happy couple’s friends and family with the unmistakably Scottish tones of the bagpipes.  Once in the hotel, everyone had time to say hello to Gavin and have a quick tipple before heading through to the ceremony room for the nuptials.

Louise and Gavin had opted for a Humanist wedding and had asked Les Gray along who conducted a beautiful and personalised service.

Right after the knot had been tied we all headed outside so the new Mr and Mrs Ferguson could get a nice big group photo with all of their guests. After a few days of not so great weather, it was a pleasant surprise to have such a still, sunny day which we took full advantage of by having a walk around the West end for some fab photos of Gavin and Louise together.

Back inside and after spending time with their guests it was time for the speeches. It’s always one of my favourite parts of the day as the stories from all of the speakers really helps paint a picture of a couple’s journey to the big day.

The evening’s celebrations were taken care of expertly by the wonderfully talented Sneaky Treacle. They did what they do best and kept the dance floor jumping and the guests up dancing all night.
