ST LUKE’s Wedding PHOTOGRAPHER / SARAH & CRAIG

A love story in the heart of Glasgow.

We’ve been out in the countryside quite a lot recently, so it was awesome to be back in Glasgow for a St. Luke’s Wedding!

St Luke’s is a fantastic wedding venue, right at the east end of the city centre, and really close to the iconic Barras market. We’d never worked here before, so we were really excited when Sarah and Craig got in touch and told us of their plans for the day.

Imagine this: a beautifully converted church boasting remarkable architecture, exposed brick walls, and an awesome stage at the front of the hall. It’s the epitome of urban charm, providing us with a striking backdrop to capture those unforgettable moments for St Luke’s wedding photos.

But wait, there’s more! Step inside, and you’ll discover a range of distinctive spaces brimming with character and elegance. From intimate corners to spacious halls, St Luke’s offers us a playground of creativity where we can capture those awe-inspiring shots that truly showcase the essence of the occasion.

Let’s not forget the incredible team at St Luke’s who go above and beyond to ensure a flawless experience. With their expertise and attention to detail, they make sure everything runs seamlessly, allowing us photographers to focus on creating stunning imagery. They work tirelessly to bring the couple’s vision to life, and we are honoured to be part of the process, immortalising those cherished memories through St Luke’s wedding photos.

The ceremony was great and got loads of lovely shots of the most special part of the day. Even more special was the ending, where Craig had pulled some strings and got local up-and-coming artist Daniel Docherty to perform one of his songs as they walked down the aisle. Sarah was absolutely speechless (and so were all the guests), what an end to proceedings!

Afterwards there was only one place we all wanted to go for the photoshoot, the Barras of course! We’ve been wanting to shoot at this famous Glasgow location for some time, and it didn’t disappoint. There was even time for Sarah and Craig to stop for a cheeky half in one of the trendy bars that are popping up around the Gallowgate.

On to the speeches then, which were an absolute riot, well done to everyone involved! Craig had prepared Jaeger-bombs for every guest, which made us a wee bit jealous and brought back some very hazy memories of nights out in Glasgow. On top of that he’d written a really lovely poem for Sarah which was unexpected and really touching. When it came time for the best men to speak, they didn’t let the side down either. Guests and family alike were rolling in the isles as the two speakers regaled them with tales and pictures of our groom’s less dignified moments.

Dancing time was soon upon us, and as tradition dictates, it’s the newlyweds who take to the floor first. Now, we’ve heard a lot of first dance songs over the years, some of them we’ve even heard a few times. We have never heard anyone go for Luther Vandross though, and it was a top, top choice (and a personal favourite of mine!) After the first dance was over it was time for everybody to get involved, and the crowd didn’t need to be told twice!

Of course, there was just enough time for a wee night shot of the fantastic St. Luke’s building before we headed home for the night. It’s always great to end the day with one last shot of the happy couple, a fitting close to an amazing day. Thanks again for having us along to photograph your wedding guys, we had a really great time!
