Couple: Eilidh + David

Venue: Cottiers

Date:  18th May 2019

Cottiers is, without doubt, one of our favourite wedding venues in Glasgow. The theatre itself is a fantastic mix of grand and rustic so is completely versatile, and the surrounding area offers a real variety of backdrops for stunning wedding photographs. We were naturally delighted then when Eilidh and David invited us along to be their wedding photographers and capture their day as candidly and unobtrusively as possible.

Eilidh had opted to get ready for the big day at One Devonshire Gardens, it’s such a plush hotel and quite frankly the perfect place to start your wedding day.

Meanwhile, David chose to get ready at their flat in the West End, where he and his best men and ushers got themselves looking rather dapper in their kilts. There was even time for some more friends to drop by to help the guys have a traditional wedding morning beer before heading off to Cottiers.

Eilidh and her bridesmaids had by this time had the full works of hairstyling and make-up and were looking totally glam and very much ready for the celebrations ahead.

Onwards to Cottiers for the main event, the wedding ceremony, and David and Eilidh had opted for a Humanist ceremony. They’re such a lovely, down to earth couple that it was the perfect fit for them. It meant we got to hear a bit about their relationship from their first date right through to the wedding day.

The typical Scottish weather was threatening to misbehave but we got lucky and managed to get everyone out the front to the front of the building for a big ol’ group shot. We even made it across to the wee park across the road for the rest of the group photos and a few photos of the newlyweds enjoying some alone time.

Time absolutely flies by on a wedding day and before we knew it it was time for the speeches. Another highlight of a wedding day for us is getting to hear from some of the happy couple’s nearest and dearest and getting to hear a mix of heart-warming and comical stories from their lives.

Did we mention that we love Cottiers? Well, it really comes into its own again when it’s time to throw some shapes. The dance floor is so big and inviting and the wedding band most certainly played their part by nailing the playlist before opening the floor up for a good old ceilidh. Safe to say that dinner was well and truly danced off :)

Thanks so much for inviting us along to photograph your wedding, David and Eilidh, it was an absolute pleasure!
